Yesterday through the Country Vintners Imports in Ashland, Virginia and my local rep Arielle Monaco I ordered some of the 2007 Merlot of the CASA VALDUGA ( had a request for some at our Big-Theme BUBBLY wine-tasting and we are completely out of it! ) winery in Bento Goncalves, southern Brazil, Serra Gaucha to come to the store as we need some hearty, flavorful red to sell along with our dry and flavorful white Chardonnay from LIDIO CARRARA and our sparkling wines - espumantes - a Brut and a Moscatel from SALTON : ALL from Brasil, to sell during these holiday season, especially as we have Fatima I believe here name is coming to do a LEBLON Cachaca in-store tasting this Saturday, December 14th, 2013 from 4-7 PM I believe? " Doing Thai " Eladio said to me. " Not going to be fancy, a friend of a friend ... " he continues. Eladio said : " Around twenty." Eladio answered when I asked him what he wanted to spend. I already knew that with " a friend of a friend " that it had to be more about tasty and flavorful to match the flavors of the Thai food. I sold Eladio a bottle of our 2007 Merlot from the CASA VALDUGA winery in the Valle Dos Vinhedos, $19.99 just south of the wine capitol of Bento Goncalves. I told him that it was flavorful and dry like a good bottle of French Bordeaux or even an Italian Friuli or Veneto dry red, as the ancestors of CASA VALDUGA are either from Trentino or Veneto, Italy.
